Iron Sands Oat Rye Stout

Oatmeal Stout

Inspired by the wild iron rich beaches of the west coast we devised a smooth warming stout that combines oats, caramalised rye and chocolate wheat malt with our fruity English yeast strain and some lightly zesty Nelson hops. The result is a stout fit to fortify against wild west coast winter storms and the perfect match to a night beside the fire.
Tasting Notes:
Aromas of rich nutty malt, dark chocolate and espresso off set with some light citrus and berry fruit . Rich decadent complex malt flavours give way to a smooth roasty finish.
Food Matches:
Steak, beef casserole , berry based desert.
Grist: NZ Mild Ale, Special W, Chocolate Wheat, Cararye, Roast Barley and Flaked Oats.
Hops: Pacific Jade, NZ Willamette.
Yeast: English Ale
ABV : 6.0%
IBU: 11
SRM: 35
